Some hospitals in Northeastern Ontario work with us to give drug treatments (chemotherapy) to Regional Cancer Program (RCP) patients. They are part of the Community Oncology Clinic Network (COCN).
If you need chemotherapy you will see one of our medical oncologists at the RCP in Sudbury. If your local hospital has agreed to work with us and their doctors and nurses have special training to give chemotherapy treatment safely, your oncologist may talk to you about having your treatment closer to home. Your oncologist in Sudbury will still be in charge of your treatment plan and any changes that need to be made, but your care will be shared with community physicians, nurses, pharmacists and supportive care providers.
