Palliative Care Unit
 
Palliative Care is provided on the In-Patient Oncology unit. There are 6 beds dedicated to Palliative Care. Community patients as well as hospital patients who meet the criteria for admission, are considered for the unit. Patients admitted to Palliative Care will be provided with support for symptom issues as well as end of life care. No active chemotherapy or radiation therapy will be done in this area.
 

Maison VALE INCO Hospice


The Maison VALE INCO Hospice opened in the summer of 2008. The Hospice is located on South Bay Road, overlooking Bethel Lake. It offers a variety of programs including a residential care program to 10 palliative residents of the Sudbury-Manitoulin districts, the Xstrata Nickel Day Hospice program for palliative patients from the community, as well as a spiritual care program for residents and their families, staff and volunteers of the Hospice.
