Nutrition Registered Dietitians help you plan what foods you will need to maintain your strength and provide your body with good nutrition despite any side effects of treatments you may experience. Psychosocial Services Psychologists and Social workers help you and your family cope with the diagnosis, prepare for treatment, get through treatment, as well as assist in accessing community resources. Physiotherapy Physiotherapists help you deal with the physical effects of cancer and maintain mobility during and after treatment. Speech Language Pathology Speech Language Pathologists help you with difficulties with speaking and/or difficulties with swallowing, as a result of cancer of the head and neck. Pediatric Interlink Nurses The Interlink Nurse supports children with cancer and their families to prepare for and cope with treatment, by arranging services in their home and community. Supportive Care Oncology Network-NE Region The Coordinator of the Network helps communities in northeastern Ontario provide support and services to patients and families dealing with cancer. Supportive Care Oncology Research Unit The Supportive Care Oncology Research Unit (SCORU)conducts high quality, ethical research on various topics that affect the quality of life of cancer patients and their families. Genetic Counselling for Hereditary Cancer Genetic Counsellors offer counselling and genetic testing for eligible individuals who have a strong family and/or personal history of cancer.
